Keyboard randomly stops working while playing TF2

Everytime I play tf2 for awhile, usually over thirty minutes but less than two hours, at some point the keyboard will completely stop working. And by completely stop I mean not a single key does anything in or out of the game, I can't even turn the little num lock light on and off. All I can do is hold down the power button to turn off my computer. The mouse still works when it happens. I'm using a built-in laptop keyboard.

I have reason to believe that this isn't specifically a keyboard problem though and is a freeze of some sort. If I use the mouse to quit or minimize the game while it's happening my entire screen goes black and I get that repeated sound thing while my computer is completely locked up.

Things I have tried so far to fix it:
Updating my graphics drivers
Downgrading my graphics drivers
Checking for updates to my keyboard drivers (there weren't any)
Lowering tf2's graphics settings
Using sv_forcepreload
Moving tf2 to my SSD

Computer specs:
Lenovo Ideapad y700
Windows 10
Intel Core i7 2.6 GHz
16 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M "rendering adapter"
Intel HD Graphics 530 "display adapter"

Same thing happens to me in Dota2. Using an Y700 Lenovo Ideapad. It only happens after the latest W10 update. Someone please help? :)

Thought you'd like to know that I found a solution for this problem. I fixed it by making the game use the Intel graphics card exclusively instead of the Nvidia one.

Go into the nvidia control panel, go to the program settings tab, select the game, then under "select the preferred graphics processor for this program" pick integrated graphics.
