Is there a way to install Steam games in another folder?
Steam forces to create a sub directory "Steam". Is that possible to install where I want?

You can create additional libraries on other drives if you want. That can be done under DOWNLOAD and "manage library folders" in your client settings.
Those extra libraries can be named anything you want.
But the main installation of Steam is always on your C drive and named the same, cant change that.

Thanks. It is the reason for when a game is on GOG, I prefer it over any store. Not only to have the full game (which I can have by other means), but the full control of your computer is priceless.

Yes I'vee been using Steam for years lol, and I think I've asked this before, just wandering if today may be a new method or so, apparently still the same. Still loving Steam, but would love much more with less dumb things like this. hehe

If you do things manually you can add libraries where you want e.g. same drive:

If the issue was not having control over the full path (e.g. you don't want steamapps or the other sub-directories Steam creates in Library folders) the above doesn't change that.
