Steam deck in offline mode

Hello, so does the steam deck count hours in offline mode? I played a game with 10 min online, and then another 10 mins offline. When I refresh the game page, it says I 20mins, but then dropped down to 10mins. It like, somewhat bothers me when steam doesn't count my hours properly so if I take my steam deck to work and have it in offline mode, and then put it back online, the the time doesn't sync up and disappears

Its the same as the normal Steam client. It counts the playtime as long as you are offline and playing but when you go online again it gets deleted.
Steam never counts the offline playtime on the profile, at least not in a visible state.
Has been this way forever.

Nope, its not a loophole. The Steam client still tells the servers how long you played offline, it just does not display it.
But it counts for refund requests.

honestly pointless to not keep the offline playtime then. if steam counts hours played when offline, it should add to your global online time the next time you reconnect.

I honestly think Steam needs to address this and include offline time. I personally am not going to keep my Deck connected to WiFi when I'm out and about, it's mobile for a reason.

Idk why but this still bothers me. Kinda pointless for steam to track your offline play time but not have it count to the total online/offline time.

Wait what? I remember offline playtime updated correctly as long as you exit game being online

Either they're working on this, or I bugged my profile.
I've been away for the weekend and played the hell outta Graveyard Keeper.

No idea what's going on, but check this out.. On my profile it's being displayed only my online time (about 8 hours), but my PC's Library somehow synced with the Deck and is displaying my online+offline time (about 23 hours).[i.imgur.com]

I think when you launch game on PC it would drop to 8 hours

thing is, that steam actually track time in offline. but they just stopped update it to online. sometime. cus i remember years ago steam updated offline time to online.

Yeah man I’m deployed right now and I logged into WiFi today just to watch nearly 300 hours of different games go poof

just came back to a trip, dumped 40+ hours into Graveyard Keeper and not a minute was accounted for

so frustrating

This is so annoying. I hope it gets patched but it seems intentional on Valve's part
