Cloud out of date (cloud sync issue)
This is the error I'm getting:
'Cloud out of date. You played Apex Legends on "PC" and that save is not yet in the cloud. (upload not started). You can still play this game, but that may create a conflict when your previous game progress successfully uploads'.

I did a clean installation of Windows 10. Completely wiped my OS drive. (Before I did the clean installation I had no games open on Steam so no games that needed to close and sync.) After the clean installation I downloaded Steam. I have my games on a separate drive. I added that drive to the Steam library. I tried to open Apex Legends and got the above error. The other games in my library had a sync error and I clicked the icon 'Cloud status' and the sync apparently worked. I haven't opened those games but I have encountered the same above error when trying to play Rainbow Six Siege.

The things I've done to try and fix this issue:
- Reinstalling Steam
- Reinstalling Apex Legends
- Resetting router and network settings
- Disabling firewall and antivirus
- Disabling and re-enabling Steam cloud
- Verified integrity of game files
- Repairing game files (Both on C drive and game drive)
- Deleted userdata in Steam folder

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've also written to Steam Support just waiting for a reply.

Starting to wonder if this is an actual issue. Factorio is giving me that same error and I've restarted Steam as well.

This is happening to me with Binding of Isaac.

My laptop is uploading the save to Steam Cloud without any issues. My desktop initially says it's "Out-of-sync" and I have to click "Retry" to get it to sync. However, upon launching Binding of Isaac on my desktop it then immediately fails saying that the cloud data from the laptop isn't uploaded yet.

Incredibly frustrating that the laptop appears to be uploading successfully, but that the desktop is saying the cloud-save data isn't uploaded.

I cannot seem to get it to sync no matter how many times I open the game on the laptop, close it, and watch it upload/sync.

Perhaps opt in to Beta Participation in Steam. That has worked for me so far. (Settings>Account>Beta Participation)

The VRChat installation helper is nice.

Please do not listen to this advice. You should not have to risk corrupting the rest of your computer by reformatting hard drives and uninstalling your operating system in the hopes of fixing a problem Steam has created. This a recent Steam problem with Cloud Sync. They keep trying to fix it as evident in the details of the last two Steam Client updates but it hasn't been fixed. Lots of people are reporting this issue.
