Can not change a region
Hi!
I text in support twice, but they didn't help me..
in the end of 2021 i moved to Czech Republic from russia, and i change info in account (city etc) but there is no option to change store and in interface i see that need to contact support.
i text support, tell that i 8month + ago moved and need to change store and they said make a payment using your CZ card, but it doesn;t let my add payment method!
what should i do???

The only way to change the store region is to make a purchase with a payment method from that region, which is exactly what Support told you. There is no other way around it.

As far as your payment method, you need to use one that Steam supports. When you say "it doesn't let [me] add payment method", what does that mean? Do you get an error message? Is your payment method even accepted on Steam?

I am getting this as well. I cannot make a new purchase because Steam is having 'technical issues' and won't allow me to make a payment. So, I have raised a support request and they haven't answered...

When i choose any method (visa,mastercard etc) it text :
"We are temporarily unable to process transactions with this payment method at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience."
i believe it is because i lived in russia and acc is in russia region..
thats why i text to support who said me the same thing 3 time and close cases without solution!!

Steam is in full compliance with sanctions and regulations against Russia and Belarus.
So if you use one of the banks impacted by those, Steam can no longer do business with those.

Are you trying to add a payment method through the account details or are you actually trying to buy something? The first won't work, the latter should.

He didn't say that he is using a different bank or maybe a bank also operating in Czech, but still affected by the sanctions due to being a russian bank with branch offices in Czech Republic.

but the message is before i input any card data..

the same case, when i try to purchase something.. it propose chose payment method (list is bigger) but any of options give the same message without any input or options..
i still have store in rubles, and can not change it.. my account is associated with cz phone number..

When you're there, it says country at the bottom. Did you pick that first?

Have you removed any old stored payment information?

If you go here do you still have a Russian payment method associated with the account? If so, delete it.
