[Linux Mint 21/Ubuntu 22.04, Xbox Wireless Controller] Gamepad Input doesn't work as expected
So, I FINALLY had my dual-boot between Windows 10 and Linux Mint (my favorite Linux distro, kinda like Ubuntu but easier to adapt to). I am NOT new to Linux, but I am indeed new to Linux gaming.

I installed a N O I C E Grub theme (cause, y'a know, Grub is ugly and I found out about GRUB themes), Wine (I just can't get used to live without Windows apps), RetroArch, and most importantly, Steam.

I set up Proton to work with other Steam titles, restart my PC,download and boot up Sonic Mania (it's lightweight, so it should fully work fine, right? ummm... right?), and press Menu/Start/Options/+/whatever-you-wanna-call-it (we'll call it Start throughout the rest of the discussion, ok?) on the title screen, and what?! It's NOT starting! I'll just press A, and that worked! I go to the game, and I want to pause it! I press Start, and it doesn't work! I press RB/L1/L, and... WHAT?! THAT HAD NO RIGHT TO WORK! So, can you help me please? (I don't think tihs applies just to Sonic Mania)

1. Check if you get the option Define Layout on the Controller Settings screen:
Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > select your controller and if available for it, Define Layout would be next to Calibration button.
See if its mapped correctly.

2. Test with Xbox Configuration Support disabled (also found at the Controller Settings screen)
If the overlay works with the game then this setting shouldn't matter.

3. Right-click the game in the Steam Library > Properties > Controller > select Disable Steam Input if it says for the Xbox: Enabled, set by the developer.
This is so the inputs aren't undergoing possible configuration.

Remap this thing with Steam. Buttons not reporting or misreporting is easiest fixed with Steam's input mapper.
