Steam ROM Manager creates an unresponsive Steam Deck

So i have factory reset 3 times, ive turned off and on a hundred times. but everytime i try to open Steam ROM Manager i cant do anything anymore. what is going on. theres nothing about this issue anywhere that i have found. It also is unresponsive if i just close steam in desktop mode... any help and/or suggestions would be the most help!!!

I have the same thing happening to me. It has frozen my desktop when I try to open it, when it’s just opened, and when I was generating an app list. I have not been able to open and use it successfully since I got my deck last night.

Ask on the Emudeck forums. The Rom Manager is obviously not supported by Valve.

It seems that killing the steam app in desktop mode causes my problem. And I am not familiar with Linux but it looks like the script for rom manager forces steam to close. Then nothing responds. If I close steam myself without trying to launch the rom manager it does the same thing.

Oh that’s working as intended. It has to be closed to add the entries.

Just map your left and right click to the triggers or the shoulder buttons in the Steam Client - it’s in settings under Desktop controls. You can’t miss it.

That will give you back any functionality you loose once the Client is closed. It doesn’t affect the triggers or the shoulder buttons, just the trackpad.

Edit: Obviously, this depends on your personal preferences. You can map it anyway you want, I just find trackpad movement + triggers works best in desktop mode.

Thanks Bee. That got me on the right path. I also updated emudeck after assigning buttons and that fixed the other problem.
