How many current players a multiplayer 1 vs 1 game (like fighting or ccg) have to have on steamcharts in order to consider to be "alive"?

Honestly, its not that hard to get into the Steam charts, a few hundred daily active players is already enough.
And how many players are needed for a current game to be "alive" thats a complete subjective question.
Some players tell you a game is "dead" when it does not have tens of thousands of players each day, others consider a game alive as long as a core playerbase of maybe just a 100+ players remains.
There is really no universal answer.

That may be but still, at least how many approximate amount players those types of games have to have to not spend minutes in the lobby waiting for a match?

Well for 1v1 games a few hundred active players should be enough, for games with teams i would not buy anything that has below 1-2 k daily players.
But of course, more players are always better for waiting times.

Any game that has any players is considered "alive". Heck, there are plenty of 1 vs 1 games where the population never goes over a few hundred people.
A game is dead when there are no players, and the game is shut down.
