My GF has blocked her ex, trying not to be messaged by him, but even after months of ignoring him, he finds her on new games and messages her. How do we prevent this?

Unless she's willingly communicating with this ex behind OP's back, and when OP found out, she decided to use, "Uh, he's stalking me!" as an excuse.

She has all the tools she needs to end communication with this person. Maybe she's failing to utilize them on purpose.

2-: block him on steam, which can be done.

3-: report them to an online hotline stalking online is serious and can be charged.

4-: screen shot everything as proof.

5-: if she hasn't done these steps then she's allowing it.

She's done a lot of what you said already, but maybe the screen shot and send it in. She's blocked him, now she has reported him, we are doing the screen shot and sending it in. Thanks.

and just fyi, as her bf, I've got full access to her account so I'm blocking him as I can. She's not 'doing it on purpose'

I am not judging, but that is a violation of Steams TOS and Valve could take measures for finding that out.
