Are you doing this in web browser or in this Frankenstein of a native app?
Because the latter, is outdated for secure/trust related work-flows and integrations. Chrome it.

Tried in both.

Curators is an abused feature, but pretty sure it can be made to work. So sad for all people who work hard at it. I could try link my twitch, if I can damn remember how to login to it even anymore. Will report back if it fails or no.

My real gripe is that curators are 90% cowboys and never help anyone out.

Ticket logged (you might want to log a ticket too) we will either know if Gabe and Twitch have had a dissagreement or that it's something they are working on, by the weekend.

Cheers, thanks for the help.

I got the response quickly
"...Twitch account linking does not currently work. The Steam development team is aware of the issue, but we do not have any estimate on a fix at this time..."
How long has this been broken for I wonder? I am assuming it's only been this week, which sounds fair enough, these 3rd part integrations are never easy to maintain, require constant love.

Haha weird, mine blew me off completely. They want me to contact Twitch support who I don't know how they can provide support on a 3rd party website. They said,

Linking and unlinking a Steam account and a game or service is an external process. Steam Support is not able to modify or unlink your account. To unlink this product from your Steam account, you will need to contact the external game or service's support team.

Like I said, my issue has persisted for months.

Hmm. Curators are second class citizens here it seems, ever since the curator program crashed out due to abuse.

I guess we need to have steam remove the feature for everyone. If it only works for some people, then that is not equitable really.

Thanks again for your help :( Sad result, not sure what to do here, indeed. I actually care and I'm not abusing the system but I know many were.

So that does look like a longer standing issue. If they don't close the ticket I can always raise it again a few weeks later, if nobody tells them there is a feature we still care about, the product owner will never know. I mean why did they do the integration to start with :/

Stay toasty :albedobeer:

Necro'ing; unfortunately it seems to still be broken and it's looking like it'll never be resolved since it's *years* old -.-

I still can't do this.
zaphodikus Feb 9, 2023 @ 6:48am
raise a support ticket and wait in line?
GinaTonik Feb 10, 2023 @ 5:55am
Logging a ticket will do nothing in this case. Look at reply #7 for what they wrote me. They say it is an external issue and they have nothing to do with it. I mean, maybe more tickets will put pressure on them to fix their website but I doubt the info gets passed on to anyone that could make a difference.

1. if it currently works for some users, then it is NOT a technical problem.
2. if it works for nobody Valve should remove the functionality.

Not saying you are wrong, but rather the tech support response is designed to deflect damage, as they often are. I'm trying to understand which part of this is "external", I think the externality here is what Jerry Wienberg was 97 percent right about when he was saying. "no matter what the problem is, it's always a people problem."
https://blog.codinghorror.com/no-matter-what-they-tell-you-its-a-people-problem/

The fact the function works for some people makes it completely obvious to me that it's a configuration problem, not a code-paths problem.
