Need help using the Nintendo NSO Controllers
The latest Steam update (July 27, 2022) added support for the various Nintendo Switch Online classic controllers (NES, SNES, N64, and Sega Genesis). However, I am unable to make them work on my machine. I'm hoping someone here has a suggestion.

I am on Windows 10. I have tried the SNES and N64 controllers using a wired USB connection.

When I plug in either controller for the first time, Windows recognizes the device and installs some sort of driver. However, if I open Windows' "Game Controllers" settings menu and then open the Controller Properties menu, none of the actions are recognized.

When I open Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings, the controller shows up under Detected Controllers with the same name that Windows recognized (e.g. SNES Controller). Clicking on this controller opens up the Controller Settings menu. Pressing any button on the controller does nothing and I am unable to configure the controller.

As a control group, I connected an Xbox 360 Controller. This shows up under the Detected Controller heading and behaves as expected when clicked (the right side of the screen shows Preferences, Identify, and Calibrate).
