Social Club (GTA 5) and my steam account
A few years ago I bought all of the GTA games with a bundle here through steam, after overplaying them a few years later in 2018 I bought GTA 5. I played the game for 80 hours in story mode and now trying to play it recently, the problem is that it shows an email account that I didn't use for the social club account.

This made me curious so I checked my email accounts and my steam one as well to prove to myself I wasn't wrong about this. So I checked my purchase history and it shows I didn't even buy the game. To add to this mystery, I checked my email because Valve sends us a email saying we purchased anything here.

Well you guessed it I found the email I purchased the game for $19.79 on September 6th 2018 @ 8:18pm PDT under my account name. Which like I said, I did indeed buy.

I have tried everything on the internet to play GTA 5. I have bought it here Valve, is there anyway to play the game that I bought but doesn't show on my purchase history?

I can provide the invoice if needed and any other details for Rockstar if also needed.

Nothing to do with Steam. What email you used to purchase the game on is irrelevant.

It does show the game GTA 5 on your account, so you do own it.

What email you used for your Rockstar Social Club Account is a different matter and something you will have to talk about with Rockstar Support.

Rockstar Support will not provide the information.

You linked your Steam account to your Rockstar account but the linking is done on Rockstar's end. You have to remember your Rockstar account information which verifies ownership of GTA V on Steam.

You seemingly linked it to another Rockstar account.

No I haven't since it isn't a email I have ever made. It has twelve characters and I keep track of the names of my emails. None start with s**********g@gmail.com which is what is shown since all it shows when I boot up the game is verifying an email I do not own.

That does not alter that it is not a Steam issue and you need to sort it out with Rockstar.

I have an email that shows I bought it through steam itself so no this isn't the issue.

I have already have done this, alt + s on my purchase history and it shows I didn't buy it. Thats not the problem, I can't play a game I purchased from steam. Do you understand now?
Cathulhu Aug 5, 2022 @ 5:03am
You can download and start it. That's all Steam has to do.

That you can not enter your Rockstar Social Club account is not the fault of Steam.

Purchases show what you directly purchased on Steam.

Licences and activations are from a retail key or from a key purchased from a website.

If GTA V is not in your purchase history you activated a key.

Secondly you cannot play because you lost or forgot your Rockstar account details and Rockstar will not help until you prove your account details.

Giving you correct information is not trolling.

I find it so ridiculous you need a rockstar account to play story on gta4 and 5 . Im new to steam and pc gaming and so far steam and valve as a company have terrible terrible customer service and accessibility to their own gaming library.i guess that's what happens when the guy who made gambling for kids legal with cs2 runs a gaming platform.
