This app can't be run on your computer
Hi all,

Two days ago I was happily playing a game. Then a day later steam refused to start and windows came to me with a: "this app can't run on your pc to find a version for your pc check with the software publisher".

I have already removed Steam, restarted the pc and re-installed
Steam, yet with no result.

Hope someone can help me

Some games will auto detect what your system specs are and if your system doesn't meet the requirements the game won't launch. If an update to the game causes this, then you need to upgrade your system.

What version of windows do you have installed? 10 or 11? 32 bit or 64 bit?

It isn't a particular game. It was Steam itself. I'm running Windows 11 Pro 63-bit.

After 3 more re-installs of Steam, I noticed that my backup software decided that the Steam.exe is malware and put it in quarantine. This was the problem in the end and the problem kinda fixed itself.
