Whats New?
When I logged in today my whats new at the top of my library is no longer there. Has anyone else seen this today? I normally check that out when logging in to check on updates and news.

Mine disappeared this afternoon after I updated and restarted the Steam client. I assume it has something to do with that.

This happened last year too, I know it came back eventually but its annoying!

It’s a pretty common issue meanwhile, happens now and then. Most of the times it helps if you clear the Web Browser Cache under (upper left) Steam - Settings - Web Browser - Delete Web Browser Data. Close and restart the Steam client, and pretty fast the What’s New tab will be there again (just takes a bit until the latest news are synchronized). And if even this doesn’t work, just wait a bit for the next client update that will sort it out. But my library is still fine, so I guess this workaround should help you.

Tried this a few times but nothing came back. Got an update about 45 minutes ago and still not there.

Hmm, yeah, then that’s strange. But I’d say give it some time, the process can indeed take up to a day. But if nothing works, I’d suggest to contact support about that, who knows, maybe there’s indeed a bug somewhere in the client. Or write a thread in the Steam client Beta forum about your problem (Steam devs actually read those ones). For example this thread:

Any idea what the time period is? Is there a way to change the setting? Sometimes I do not get to the news for weeks at a time and it is really frustrating when they get auto-removed.

That person really doesnt have any clue what they're talking about. The Steam Beta client updated yesterday and the What's New news feed disappeared. Just gotta wait for Valve to notice and fix it. Or you can leave the Beta Client branch and go back to stable and the problem is fixed. This issue is only present for the Beta.
