no showcase option in editing profile
i just got to level 5 and there was no option to show awards and artwork, and didnt get a badge, any help?

It's every ten levels, that you get a slot for a showcase, not every five. You may have confused that.

First showcase is at level 10.

You heard incorrectly. It has always been 10.

You need to have a steam account profile of at least level 10. You gain a showcase after each 10 levels.

Reach level 10 to unlock showcases, and you must upload at least 1 artwork in order to use the artwork showcase
And yes, they lied to you about being level 5
