All my games are running at 20 fps?
I have a pretty beefy computer and I can easily run high detail games at 160+ fps. Sometimes however when I'm running a game in full screen it will hard cap at 20 fps, but if I click off to my other monitor it goes back up to what ever its frame cap is (either 60 or un-capped). I have found that running games in windowed mode doesn't have this issue but most games don't fit right on the screen unless I use a lowered resolution. All my drivers are up to date and windows is up to date. I have had this issue for about a year now and nothing I do seems to fix it. This doesn't happen to all games but most of them it does. This also only happens to games I run from steam, everything else is fine.

I have a similiar issue where I have a 3 monitor setup with 1 60hz monitor, 1 144hz monitor (main monitor) and a 60hz beamer (which isn't running all the time and mirrors my main monitor). Windows always uses the 60hz frequenzy of my beamer for applications. I have to disable the beamer in the Nvidia settings to get more then 60fps on my main monitor.

It seems to be caused by running a GPU accelerated process on the other monitor too (e.g. a browser with a video). So try to close any other apps or move them to the faster monitor.

Here's a video explaining what's going on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFiWtRyOApI

Dual view according to some game devs is a DirectX issue, and sense im not a programmer or software enginer, i had to accept that reply from them.

so you might want to take that up with MS.( thats was for Arg0n point )

proof unplug multi Monitor or plasma telly and see things go up in HZ with 1 primary Monitor or telly.
point is multi or clone or has issue with share or the way it was made in the old days.

cant say what they was think then they made it back then, but now we live with it, and sense plasma telly or living room and the way big telly is now bite in our butts, i cant say if it true or not not my job to dig in a driver and the way Graphic was build so many years ago, but i can tell you ask own Graphic card support is the right way.

this is not a steam problem but Graphic department ( dont expect game devs know such )
some might, but chance are slim.

my issue with it was 60hz and 30hz, 2 monitor then game wont go high with 1 it did.
either they lie to me and game engineer wont be fixed , they could have said that but they dident.

and yet here you are, seem to have same issue as i did, dont expect any here have the clue on Graphic with multi Screen ( lets hope few know, but fat chance they read this post anyway. )

Contact own GPU card support they should know this.

All of my monitors run at 60hz but when I went into settings my drawing tablet was copying what happened on my first display. Once I set it to only show on my actually monitor my games now run just fine at 60 fps or higher. This just kinda confuses me because my drawing tablet also runs at 60hz so I never thought it would be the issue. Thanks for helping me out!
