Connected to public wifi - can download but not play any online games

Hello,

So I got an issue, I'm in a place where I can connect to public wifi with a username and password, I can download anything I want without any issue, but I can't seem to connect to any online game.

Anyone knows what I can do to solve this ? Else it would mean I can't connect to any games for at least 2-3 weeks :((

Being a public wifi, it's most likely heavily regulated on what services that can actually use it. I'm actually surprised that you can even download games to be honest. Typically the free wifi services are only designed for simply web browsing and email. I guess some might be able to do more than that but it would be rare to find.

Yes but it's in a facility where people stay and sleep so I hoped to be able to game a bit ;)

You can try using a TLS based VPN running on port 443 (the standard HTTPS port). It's wiser to use a VPN under your control over public networks anyway.
