Sounds like the VPN messes with the connection by attempting to use a their own certificate in some kind of man in the middle attack.
So, they want to see what you are doing. Very unprofessional behavior.

Or you have malware on your PC.

Could you visit the website in a browser and show us details of the certificate in question?

The Virus is called BitB or something.
It's aim is to delete your Steam, Ubisoft, Epic, etc apps and then when you go to download it, it will redirect you to phish you by redirecting you into signing into your account from their portal. Then they steal your account by locking you out. If they succeed then immediately block all online purchasing methods you have.

From my research your IP address is safe in most cases and so is your wifi and all the other devices on it.

There is one way to go around this if you haven't signed in:
-Selectively backup all your essential folders but do not back up any softwares.
-Make sure to keep any software product keys if required.
-Format your entire computer and reset/reinstall windows/mac OS.
-Then start replacing your backups after startup but make sure you load your anti virus first and scan it.
-preferably also scan your backup on your external drive on another computer before putting the backup into your computer.

(I have tested this and it 100% works provided that they haven't attacked your IP).

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
