it seems like you did it righ. wonder if is a bluetooth issue. i know there are adapters that work but i doubt you want to spend more just to make it work right.
i had issue with bluetooth keeping connection. so i keep it wired
But after more digging I finally fixed it, looks like a few months ago Microsoft broke it while enabling Bluetooth LE stack in firmware update and never fixed it and I did fw update after reinstall. I managed to get it back to work by reverting update.
