Elite controller 2 recognized as normal one

I had this working before i reinstalled system, but now Steam won't detect my Xbox Elite 2 controller as elite, instead shows it up as normal one. Surprisingly it starts working when i connect it through USB, but I did not buy wireless controller to play wired.
I have Xbox Extended support enabled in steam and Xbox accessories installed.
This seems to corelate with how xbox accessories wont allow me to configure controller wireless, so maybe that's the problem?
I don't remember using xbox accessories before tho, I think there was other app.
Anyone have any idea how to fix it? Thanks

make sure you have it set up right. top left corner--right click steam----select settings---- controller. then make sure xbox configuration support and xbox extended feature support is checked. then it should show xbox elite at the bottom.

it seems like you did it righ. wonder if is a bluetooth issue. i know there are adapters that work but i doubt you want to spend more just to make it work right.

i had issue with bluetooth keeping connection. so i keep it wired

Yeah, I did all that and it still failed.

But after more digging I finally fixed it, looks like a few months ago Microsoft broke it while enabling Bluetooth LE stack in firmware update and never fixed it and I did fw update after reinstall. I managed to get it back to work by reverting update.

Still an issue can you tell me wich firmware version is the working one? I've boght the controller yesterday and needed to update to the current version to fix multiple issues.
