Discovery Queue not working.
My Discovery Queue is not working. Is anyone else having problems with it?

There is a common problem where the Steam Discovery Queue does not update properly on a daily basis, giving you the same queue you have already finished.

To fix this, you can generate a new list of games by starting your queue by clicking the "Start another queue >>" button on Steam store front page (scroll down a bit to get to it)

Or use this link for the same effect: https://store.steampowered.com/explore/startnew

If that doesn't help, you can also try clicking the "Customize your queue" button on the Discovery Queue page and then "OK", which should generate a new queue for you.

I hadn't expected my discovery queue to be broken twice, so didn't bother to remember this URL the first time...it was surprisingly hard to find in Google when I was specifically looking for it. Is it deliberately hard to find, or is there just an obvious location I've overlooked?

Do you mean the URL to start a new queue? It's only shown to logged-in Steam users, and it's only visible on the Steam store front page when you do not have an active queue. Google's web crawler cannot see this URL and will be redirected to the Steam login page if it tries to access it directly. So it's no surprise that it's hard to find on Google.

Edit: As Legumious pointed out on post below, the link to start another queue on the Discovery Queue page is not the same.

You can get to the Discovery Queue using the Store drop down menu on the tool bar.
Normally I'd just let this go because I got my answer, good enough. Since I needed the URL to force start my queue again today, I thought I'd document the issue further; it seems a poor design choice, and there's conflicting information.

The https://store.steampowered.com/explore/startnew link is located on the main store page, 8 presses of the Page Down button from the top (for me). The link is there all the time when you're logged in (at the moment). If you do not have a queue, it will start one, if you do have a queue, it will send you to the next game.

The link to start a new queue is NOT on the dedicated Discovery Queue page, and the available options are variable. If Steam thinks you have a queue, there is a direct link to the a game, whether that game is in your queue or not. If you have not started a queue, there is a javascript button that increases the length of your queue to 12 games. So if you're having trouble with the discovery queue, the discovery queue page is not where you'll find solutions.

Right, I'm not sure why I just assumed the link to "Start another queue" on the Discovery Queue page was the same as the one on the store front page.
I think it's hilarious that I don't even remember posting in this thread, and there is past me, explaining why Steam doesn't work to present me. I was searching Google for answers to make my Discovery Queue work when I should have been searching my post history.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
