Bit of strawmanning there OP ...
If its not a game forum, its a valve run forum and valve's standard rules apply, it is NOT a fake forum.... It also means its NOT the place to advertise your discord link in a seasonal event forum so you were doubly wrong.
Rules are upheld fairly, the rules change based on whose forum you decide to use, and its your responsibility to read and understand them though. Clearly advertising your discord links on a seasonal event forum is not allowed, but advertising it in a game forum can be. Hence why you should read the rules and understand.
No it doesn't. There are rules for the Steam community forums and rules for the individual game forums that can be controlled by the developers. Ignorance of the rules is never an excuse
The fact you're getting tilted over having to follow rules is kinda telling. You legit advertised in an official Steam forum, and got clapped.
But now you're trying to argue semantics of "so and so popular game is advertising THEIR group, on THEIR forum. why can't I?"
Like...seriously? That's gradeschool levels of petty.
Helps if you read, by default its not allowed, so if the game dev's allow it then they AREN'T enforcing it. Again, its the DEVELOPERS forum, they can completely opt out of steam management if they wish as the forum and control over it are part of the services they get by paying valve their fee's.
Then you were extra wrong and should have asked before posting as if there were no rules saying otherwise you should always assume that advertisements aren't allowed. After all it clearly states so in the standard rules steam posts
