Can I purchase a game with money in Steam wallet AND other payment media?

Hello,

The jist of my situation is the following:

I'm planning on buying a game, but I won't have sufficient funds to purchase it. That is to say, I've been given a "gift card" for Steam that will allocate $20 dollars on my account. As I mentioned, I plan to buy a game in the near future. This game will still require me to have at least $30 after the discount of $20.

My question is:

IS there any way I can use both the gift card and another payment medium to pay or is it a strict kind of transaction?

Basically, I want to be able to use the gift card to pay for half of the purchase and a credit card to pay for the other half.

Will I be able to have this go or not?

Hope this makes sense. IF not, please ask so I can clarify.

P.S. - I think Amazon or some other ecommerce site allows this type of transaction when purchasing products... can't remember who exactly.

You can; you'd be hard-pressed to find a store that doesn't allow this type of transaction.

when to buy the game it will tell you that it is using the wallet funds ($20 in your case) and the remainder by the cc of your choice.

tl:dr : yes you can. it tells you as you go through the purchase process.

When making a purchase on steam, steam will use the steam wallet funds first. If there isa not enough in the steam wallet funds steam will ask for another payment method.
So steam will use your 20 dollars in your steam wallet then use what ever else from your second payment method.

I came here looking for this as well, I first got lost in a dark alleyway on reddit where someone asked the same and then people argued about it, I assumed we could do this but wanted to check, cheers people.
