Voice chat apps lag but not my games

All voice chat apps like TS3, Discord and Skype lags for me, they hear me perfectly but for me their voices randomly cuts out and sometimes (rarely) sound robotic, biggest problem being the cutouts. My router is fine and good and I used to be able to hear my friends with no problem but not anymore.
I have an ethernet cable going directly in to the router so that shouldn't be an issue and when I game I get good ping and no problem at all, the lag is only in VOIP apps.

Have you try reset your modem? Unplug wait a minute and then plug it back in.

If you're using a router that connect to your modem, reset them both, or plug your ethernet into the modem after you reset it.
