Same problem.
Using last steam beta app
Another bad steam update.
1. Reinstall steam (for this one i downloaded the app from the official steam page and installed it again)
2. Restarted PC
3. Change password
4. First I logged in the browser(because I was curious if it would work), then i logged in the desktop app (i was logged on in both, the browser and steam desktop app)
If this doesn't work,
when you try to log in in lower right displays an error message. I suggest to copy then search online for solution... i'm sorry if i wasn't able to help but the error i got was "Error Code: e84".
That apparently fixes it.
This is peculiar, because the Steam Service component is supposed to start up before the main Steam Client starts and it should force your system clock to synchronize - so that time-window sensitive cryptographic algorithms work properly.
Apparently with the new login experience that no longer works.
There is slowly compounding circumstantial evidence that is pointing towards the new login experience in fact being little more than a hack ductaped on top of the existing unaltered original client - being attached as part of the bootstrap process which is supposed to install updates and verify file integrity, rather than being a proper part of the client. This would potentially place it 'too soon' - i.e. before the Steam Service had a chance to synchronize the clock.
This whole situation (including some people not even being able to see the new login prompt and attempt to login at all, instead black-screening due to problems with the embedded Chromium webview) does not paint a pretty picture for the sustainability of this new login 'solution.' Or for the competence of whatever team of developers Valve placed in charge of managing our account security, for that matter.
Makes me wonder if Valve's brass is going to deign to give us a proper response on the matter or not.
Create a new shortcut from steam.exe. Open the properties and add this:
-noreactlogin
Your link must look something like:
“C:\…\Steam.exe” -noreactlogin
After that the OLD Login - Screen comes up and the login works perfect..
All the other solutions doesn't work for me
Many thanks, mate! Thats work! Cheers >)))">
