No Connection after sleep mode

I regularly put my gaming rig into sleep mode when I'm not using it, and when I take it out Steam will say No Connection for a few seconds before re-connecting with my account. Lately, however, Steam will be stuck on No Connection for several *minutes* at a time.
My internet is fine and I can still browse the store. However downloads, friends list, workshop items, etc will not work until it reconnects.

Last night during this problem, I tried closing Steam and signing back in as an Administrator, but I kept getting stuck at the "Restart Steam or Start Offline" error message, unable to get past it. Once I closed that out and tried again Steam would not launch at all. I had to restart my whole PC.

My drivers are all up to date, I'm not using any VPNs, I've made no major changes to my PC. Wondering if anyone has an idea for a fix.

because network is shutdown doing sleep mode, so how come you think steam connection wont be offline and it actual require a reconmnection to wake up network.

so technicaly hibernations is dead, could say what ?, cant you work while you sleeping. its simple not possible , same as get info then you are not up.

ps.
exit steam, or ask steam for option then idle to exit client then no DL and inactivty after 10minute to exit so hibernation can kick in. ( its something like that you need i think.
im sure other issue with is will be seen but atm this is something like that you looking for, and its not my faulth steam or other apps dont or want make such simple ideas, i did not say it will be easy, still require some coding.

I've started having this exact same issue too in the exact same way. I often have to use task manager to close out Steam and re-open it for the fastest fix. It only takes a few seconds, but it's pretty obnoxious.

Maybe too early to celebrate but it seems to be fixed (for me at least) in the latest Steam Client update.

Same. The problem appears to have fixed itself.
