Wow, if you have guild wars 2 don't try to verify files...the game will start a complete re-download without warning.

that's partly on you to know to never use verify on ANY GAME with an external launcher... it's 2022, you did see that GW2 launcher has a repair option itself, right?

no I didnt...and have verified multiple games (xcom and civ6 off the top of my head) with external launchers w/o issues.

Never once had a game do this...or even heard all this jazz about not doing it with games w/ third party launchers.

Hopefully the save file doesn't change you probably won't lose it, you just need luck.

Never had the issue with any other launcher. 2k for sure and def others. Never had a game auto-redownload when verifying files.

If the download from steam is not the game but the launcher, it can lead to this.
