"Because the Contents of *insert Bundle here* are personalized for your account, this product cannot be purchased as a gift"
So what's up with this message? I understand not being able to send the game as a gift, I'm not trying to. What I'm more curious about is what I did to earn this discount? I haven't bought a game from this publisher in a long time and I own no other part of this Bundle, is it a glitch or a bug or something?

It's the standard message for a tailored bundle. It simply means that the price of the bundle takes into account items from the bundle you already own. You won't get doubles and the price will get reduced for it.

Non-tailored bundles don't do that and have a set price. You won't get doubles, but the price won't be reduced for it either.

I see. Maybe I got the bundle as some sort of loyalty program? I do have other games from the developer or publisher in my library so maybe that has something to do with it?
There are bundles where you can have everything allready, but you can still pay for everything in it.
For getting nothing (based on the store page), it even tells you what you will save by buying this bundle......
Or bundles where you pay for dlc for a game that isnt in it or even sold.

The bundles that you can not gift, are probably the ones where this is not the case.

They can seem like a loyalty program of sorts, but you weren't provided a bundle that is any different than what anyone else could purchase. It simply adjusts to match what you own, like it'll adjust to match what I might own.

Same message but I own NOTHING, I even looked at it for the first time.

Yes? Same answer still applies, those bundles are "tailored" and cant be gifted.
If you WOULD own any of the included games you would get those deducted from the overall price.
Even if you dont own any of the included games the bundle is still marked as "tailored".
Devs can only put bundles into the store as "open" or "tailored" and the later cant be gifted.

I have the same issue, I guess no one gets gifts this Christmas, as it will not let me remove the item it is bundling in, or buy it at the normal price.

Valve didn't set up the tailored bundles for non-Valve titles.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
