Cloud save data not up to date. (but apparently it is!?)
I'm playing a few games currently and am playing between my desktop PC and my Deck.
It seems that for a bunch of games (well, one specifically right now), it complains to me that "i played it on the other computer at xxx o clock today but the save is not yet in the cloud. But if i go to the other device (which has been online for hours) it says that Steam Cloud is up to date. (and there doesn't seem to be a way of forcing it to upload or download).

Has anyone else experienced this? to be honest this is the first time i've played the same game on more than 1 computer, so i've no idea if this is normal or not. but its happened on a few games and is really frustrating me.

also:: i've just gone to look at https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage and i actually don't even see the game listed in there!? now i'm (even more) confused.

is there a way of deleting any of the cloud saves etc as it seems pretty 'read only' on that above web link. not sure if i've gone above my limit or whatnot (if there is such a thing) but it also doesnt tell you how much you've used (and I can't be bothered to tally up all the many hundreds of values listed)

more a what if, 2 account with diffrent content with a game can trigger not seen as same content or Checksum, but other then that no IDEA what that cause this.

could also say never seem to happend with 1 account and same pc with same user.
( multi user with same winlogin have been seen shared same document files and cause save game issue with same game, so its actual same problem with 2 account, not same with its content and its dlc's same as you have now ( 2 unit that dont see eye to eye on content desktop PC and my Deck. )

YOUR Cloud USERDATA

Yes! I currently have this problem too! I have a desktop pc and a laptop pc. Everytime i start a game on system 2 after playing on system 1, it says "cloud out of date". If i log in on system 1 again to sync the cloud, it always says "up to date" under "cloud status" and doesn't do anything. It affects all games.

Similar to this... I've lost my save games as cloud states it is up to date but no files if you check the cloud listing.

anyone?

I just lost all the saves from the last year. I am sooo salty right now you have no idea. The cloud was turned on, everything was syncing fine a few days ago, and I hop online today and my game loaded a save from last year. Can't find my game saves backup. They're gone. WTF???

I have finished Streets of Rage 4 multiple times, and everytime I install it on my laptop or any of my PC's it just starts from the beginning saying Cloud state up-to-date. it's so frustrating. Makes me wonder why am I buying from steam at all.

2024, exact same issue with my deck and laptop

I'm having the same issue. I was gifted a gaming PC. I was ecstatic because I could finally play games my poor little laptop can't run but I purchased. Installed those games have been playing those games everyday after work it's a good way for me to relax. They synced fine until they didn't it says up to date for my two most played games but when I go into the Steam app on my phone I can see that actually hasn't updated because the play time hasn't changed and it lists my last they played as a week ago now. Luckily I only intend to play these games on this device because this is the only device capable of running them at the moment but I would like it to be saved to the cloud obviously

Ok so I figured out the problem and it's with Microsoft. Certain games for some reason sync your cloud saves to your Microsoft one drive path instead of locally. You need to access your Microsoft one drive account and manually download the files to your local pc. After that you can uninstall onedrive. I just solved this exact issue with The Mobius Machine. Once I downloaded my data from one drive my save files magically popped up when I loaded the game. I hope this helps.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
