You're not gonna say lawsuit, but you said lawsuit.

Make sure you actually close Steam before you shut down your computer*, then investigate what local program could cause interference with your Steam -client.

For example, an antivirus.

To ensure that you do not encounter this issue, always allow Steam to close properly when shutting down your computer. Allowing Windows to force Steam to close when it is writing to a hard drive may cause Steam library and installation information to become corrupted.

My pc is brand new, just built it and nothing is wrong with the antivirus and all of my apps or updated excluding some games but there's no reason my games just disapear out of no where, i have restarted my pc multiple times before to find out the steam app wasn't opening correctly. So any game downloaded from steam isn't allowed to have a desktop icon anymore?

Yeah, its age has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Some pre-built computers come with bloatware like McAfee whose entire purpose is to screw over its userbase.

I built this PC in June and I've never had this issue, my prior build from 2011 never had this issue.

Do read the above URL, please.

Your computer's age has nothing to do with software errors.. what AV do you use?

1. Chill out.
2. Answer the following questions, if you need help to answer them just ask, and we tell you how to answer them.

- What OS are you using?
- What build version of that OS?
- Where did you install your games?
- Are your games in the same spot where you install them?
- Did you try verifying them?
- Are you using an external device to install your games on?

i literally had a browser up then closed it out and my games were gone, there's not a thing i did. My pc is not prebuilt, i physically made sure all my software/hardware was compatible. The only games that vanished were the games bought/downlaoded from steam so if something went wrong with the steam cloud then that wasn't on me, there was nothing i did differently that would make games disapear.
I have windows 10 volume 5 (had to change it back from volume 10 a while back but won't cause anything to become defected)
My games were on my desktop
My games are saved to my 2tb HDD, which is working properly
My bios is a A.30 version if that matters
I'm not sure what AV pertains to
Everything is compatible so idk i can't be the only one that this has happened to.

AV in this context is the antivirus you're using. So, despite the potential doubt, what's the antivirus you do use?

How reproducable is this issue on your end by the way? Did it happen once and not since? Are the files physically gone from your computer, or is Steam only assuming they're uninstalled?

Are your files still on yourself? Look under here.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

If so then seem like an client issue, which you can try to verfiy your game files it should detect it.
