Can't disable controller support
I'm having a problem since last steam update I think, I have a generic controller and I always use x360ce to play with it, however for some reason, steam controller support is ON, and that messes up all my controller in game, I went to big picture mode and disabled every controller support, but it's stil working during game...

So what happens in game is this, the game detects that there are 2 controllers, the one x360ce is emulating and the one steam is, and that causes problems, like for exemple, when I play Resident Evil Revelations 2, I can walk and play fine with the character, but as soon as I hit START on the controller, it goes to Split Screen mode, and suddenly I am controlling 2 characters.

So why don't I disable x360ce and use only the steam support? You might ask...

Well, the steam controller support never works as it should for me, always getting the thumbs inverted, and DPAD doesn't seem to work, even though it works when mapping, it just won't work in game.

I assume it started happening in the last steam update cause I remember there being a controller update in the steam update log, and before this, controller support was never a problem for me, it was always disabled and I could play games just fine without the game detecting 2 controllers.

Also I'd like to mention that I did turn off controller support in that new game's properties controller option (Force Off, or something like that), which didn't help either.

What if you play some non-steam game with controller support? same issues?

Do you have to use x360ce? What kind of controller do you have?

If you go to Steam>settings>Controller>general controller settings when you have your controller stup with x360ce running and everything, does it show anything under detected controllers?

1.Non steam games are working fine.

2.I have to use x360ce, because many games don't detect my controller, and usually, the few games that detect, have the buttons mapped in wrong orders.
The controller is a cheap Generic one with a playstation design, the brand is Multilazer, a company from my country apparently, Brazil. However it has always worked.

3.In the Gereral Controller Settings, as of now, all the support is off but it is still detecting my controller as a "Generic X-Input Controller : Xbox One Controller", however there were a few times before where it said it was a "Playstation Controller", or only "Generic Controller", so I don't really know what's going on in there.

See if trying the latest Steam beta does anything.
If not then report this to the bug reporting forum in the beta group.
