Bluescreen After OC
Hey guys,

I just overclocked my ryzen 2200g to 3.7ghz... Everything Worked fine but after 40mins i had an Bluescreen and the pc restartet...

To OC my CPU I used AMD ryzen Master...

When I Wanted to unOC it (Change to default settings) i thought it Worked bcs in the bios it went back to 3500mhz... So I used my pc normaly and after 10mins it crashed again... I looked it the amd ryzen master to see wether it turned back to 3.5ghz...it showed that it turned back but it still went up to 3.7ghz... When I start the pc now its crashing after like 30 secs...

Is there another way to reset the oc settings? I also tried to reset the bios with pulling out the bios battery and put it back in but my pc is still crashing...

I hope you can help me
(Btw im german so pls use easy to understand english...ty)

Reset your motherboard's CMOS, either by taking out the battery on the board and putting it back in after 30 seconds, or through a button on your board if one exists on your board.

As to the reason why your system is getting a blue screen, the overclock settings are wrong. Most likely being too much or too little voltage. Try a lower clock rate as well.

I reseted the CMOS now but it still goes up to 3,7 GHz

This was with the battery off for 30 seconds?

Does your BIOS show the CPU clock at 3.7GHz?

Yes. Im pretty sure that the cmos reseted... and the bios shows the cpu clock at 3500mhz... but it the task manager and the amd ryzen master shows it up to 3.7ghz

Stupid question, but doesn't Ryzen 3 2200G have a 3.7GHz turbo clock though?

Have you checked what error the BSOD gives you?

yes, but turbo only allows it to go to that speed when its at appropriate temps
when it temp reaches 90-100c it will throttle

I fixed it now, all I had to do was to deactivate the turbo mode in the Bios. Thx for your help guys

Assuming OP has something like [Prefer maximum performance], it could explain why his task manager would show 3.7GHz while the CPU clock under BIOS is set to 3.5GHz (and has successfully reset from the OC with the CMOS reset.)

If you still get bluescreens, turn the turbo back on. See the error code you get in the bluescreen.

If I turn on [Prefer Maximum Performance] under Windows' power options, my task manager always reports 4.18 GHz, and 4.2GHz is the i5-7600K's turbo clockfrequency.

That's what I imagine OP's scenario being. https://i.imgur.com/UfMSYZH.png

Yeah i still get a bluescreen
But idk the error

I'd turn the turbo back on, take a picture of the bluescreen and upload the picture here.

It just says "Your PC ran into a problem that it couldnt handle, and now it needs to restart."

reset bios to defaults, with the jumper or in bios
Tev Nov 18, 2018 @ 3:27am
Assuming the power options are set to maximum performance and turbo clock is enabled, the 3.7GHz reading under Task Manager is normal. If said power option is disabled (changed to Balanced for example), then the clock frequency starts to fluctuate.

Also, OP claimed to have taken off the CMOS battery for more than 30 seconds, which should drive the same business as shorting the Clear CMOS pins or by using BIOS' own reset button, but I guess there's no harm done in trying. Just seems a bit repetitive - is all.
