Unfortunately I have bought a number of games in bundles that were not direct purchases from Steam, so my boyfriend gets to play those if he's at all interested.
i did see that one indie dev added an option to disable those particular effects after it was brought to his attention. I would LOVE to see more games do this.
I also have chronic migraine (it can trigger migraines as well), and a number of advocate friends are suggesting forming a group to campaign for not only awareness and understanding to this issue, but to have the option to turn off these effects in games or on TV shows ( I've had to ask my boyfriend to summarize about half of season 3 of Stranger Things because the scenes are so intense and long!). I'll add a post with the link if we do form a group.
Really. I dont think people that are acrophobic should be taking up sky diving or tightrope walking either.
Well, I don't actually have photosensitive epilepsy, but I do have partial epilepsy and had one seizure (possibly) triggered by a TV show with strobe/flashing effects. The odds of that happening were about 7/100. So to suggest that everyone just "get a new hobby" is being a jerk, especially since most of us can't drive around whenever we want, and in the U.S., only big cities have public transportation.
Maybe learn something about it, instead of coming on a thread just to be condescending and rude.
It's allowed. Tags are user generated. Start tagging and hope others pick it up.
Keep bringing it to the attention of game devs then. The more Devs are aware of things, the bigger the chance it gets added to games.
