Steam crashes every time I try to install a game

Every time I click the install button on any game I have not installed yet, Steam just freezes and does not respond. I can still update and play my already installed games without a problem. The problem occoured after I uninstalled GTA V, since the game would get stuck in the loading screen of the rockstar launcher. After the uninstalling it I wasn't able to reinstall it. Just yesterday I was still able to install Half-Life: Alyx. So far I have tried to run Steam as an administrator, I have cleared the Download-cache as well as the Web-Cache and updated my graphics drivers. Any help is appreciated!

Rep steam multi librarys, thats inside steam settings in the storage management

use system check disk just incase, and you still need to be sure you have right default steam at whatever disk drive, and plenty of free space as work space multiplyed by 3 to 5, newest game title is more patched then past gen game, that mean DLC and update and mod even,

sense this is GTA5, im saying you have VC++ issue just like i did, and its quite frequent game devs use old VC++ from when game is made, and why steam is a screw-up if you validate game intergrity of files, it will popup then install for old outdate VC++, just because i had that issue, dont mean you do, i use MS own or new VC++ from

VC++ is not part of OS, that is a thirdpart app needed by game devs, a none gaming pc dont need VC++


just to be clear my version is Rockstar client version, not a steam version.

and im sorry if i sounds angry, but lets see how you will feel after ½ to a year with odd game issue untill you figure it out,

and it all start from 2015 with MS same update version and game devs do not get it is
2015 to 2017
2015 to 2019
2015 to 2022 now.

and this is why so many dont see the clues, atm i dont care anymore, user own problem and feel free to complain to every game devs own support and tell them game dont work, let them work for the support, gl with it.

game devs is not tech dudes, they make game with app that design games, what does this tell you. ( im sure this is not all that dont know, but atm it stick and fit, they design games that not same as be a IT-support/IT-Technician and its times someone tell them this. ( thats you as gamer )

dont forget i notice this way back, with other titles, a few game and it took time to solve it, thats alot of years, until some ingame and startup issue start to show, and its not over yet.

you need to be lucky if you had a newest game that use newest 2022 file and prevent older version from working. ( and as i said you need to be very skilled to see all the traps with it , new OS install and validate a game and watchout for older game dont make double VC++ install , yes even that can happend then version dont recognized each other.

if you dont get any of this i understand you , then contact each own game support and complain there. ( steam is not in controll of other brands then own team valve itself and that dont mean they know ) full golf clap, as we did in the old days.

wow 2015 to 2022 thats 7 years of issue if you are very unlucky and if not bought newer game with newer VC++ provided by game devs. ( and technicaly can corrupt older games as many have notice then MS make update to core same time, and that still game devs problem.
you cant argue with them, core wins over other app, same as then game devs update game and modder mods dont work anymore. ( thats modder issue )

game devs is the problem here for not follow MS update.

Other things i doubt its security then it did work before, unless that change or get updated, but as i said hard to belive it now block it then it did work before.

there is a reason why i mention this in other post so you dont forget it, and what if it do it now.

make steam.exe on whitelist same with gtaV.exe , just incase.

First of all thank you for your detailed responce! I have now repaired all my files via the steam multy library, I scanned my disks with the cmd prompt and I added Steam to the Whitelist of my Kaspersky antivirus. However the problem still ocours. I also checked how much disk space I have left and on both my SSD and HDD is about 450GB of storage left. I don't want to complain and rn I dont even mind GTA V not working. My priority is just figuring out why I am not able to download games from steam.

steam version 71,326 In-Game online atm. so , if i was you recheck that anti-virus app.
we have hear other steam user get problem with it. with other game in the past.

do not i did not know it was that AV app, ( try safe boot mode even ) most AV app is not loaded then you are in that mode.

feel free to change steam DL zone.

dont forget you just got past midnight, many ISP can fix fiber and can give issue with it untill they are done and switch you back, congested network will stop DL if line over congested atm untill rep is done.

check own ISP SMS service, some has such service, not sure you will get info now then timeslot have past start of work.


ps.
dont be near EU warzone even that can explan alot, that can even be neigbours to that region and only own ISP might know , and that dont mean they will tell you because of the war.

kindly disable your kaspersky anti virus program and see if the problem persist.

if the problem never occurs after you disabled kaspersky anti virus, then it means that kaspersky is blocking the "exe" files from those games to run at all.

in other words, Steam Game(s) Files are detected as "false Positives" by Kaspersky anti virus program.

here are 2 solutions and you can choose which one to pick from

1) completely uninstall kaspersky anti virus program and get another one that don't cause False Positives for Steam Platform.

2) add all the Steam Games to the kaspersky Whitelist.

thats not the game but thirdpart app.

Thanks again for the responce. So today I booted Windows in safe mode and now I can download games again. As soon as GTA V is installed I am going to try fixing my rockstar launcher. I am going to uninstall my AV and try to boot into windows normaly. Thanks again for ur help!
