appealing a game ban from years ago?
is it even possible at this point to try and get my account unbanned? :/
♥♥♥♥♥♥ CSGO overwatch.
i WATCHED the guy on youtube strike my account. (video has been since deleted... because of obvious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problems. but i digress.) i just wanna know if theirs a possibility of reassessing the account? ,-,

it's kinda unfair seeing as i wasn't even cheating -.- just because of some inexperienced "trusted" player watching footage from a previous game.

2200+ days and still going. I am not the only one with this issue. false community bans need to be reassessed in csgo. i wish I'd never even bought the game in the first place honestly. not worth the money i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sank into it.

It's unfair that I'm getting locked out of f2p reviewing... liking... adding workshop content to my faves(SFM from the workshop)

Also regarding VAC bans... if you get a VAC ban you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deserve it. nothing should be flagging VAC with normal software.

Assuming a chance of 50% for anyone pressing "innocent" (one single such vote would be enough) for all people not seeing you as rightfully innocent, the chance for all people of a hundred to say guilty wrongly is (50%)^100 = 0.5 * 0.5 * 0.5 * ... * 0.5 * 0.5 * 0.5 = 7.8886 * (10 ^ (-31)) = 0.00000000000000000000000000007886 % (7.886 * (10^(-29)) %). It's astronomically more likely to win the lottery jackpot than to get banned wrongly.

Yeah griefing ban multiple times = permanent ban.
are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me? ,-,
No, it's simple maths and ELI5'd for you to calculate on your own as well.

sorry for the language. I'm STILL upset over this.

Simple answer, no.
If the ban would have been a mistake, it would have been removed years ago.

Overwatch game bans can be given for reasons unrelated to cheating, like repeated toxic behavior.

VAC has nothing to do with your game ban.

Been banned more than I don't know how many years ago you still want to be right writing bad words you forgot that the ban is permanent.

Not how game bans work but ok. Account is RIP.
How did that Hook test go anyways?

yet it's still stopping me from reviewing games that are free to play? or liking workshop content... or liking friends posts... or even adding workshop content to my favourites...

and no. the mistake was on the users part. "game developer" no... just a literal idiot watching my plays.

only reason bans like that get removed is if you appeal them. i have and they said the exact same thing you did. generalising the answer?... nice.

If got gameban from CSGO might as well forget about it as Steam/Valve don't revert things unless they were wrong to begin with, and to get gameban that doesn't turn into VAC ban in CSGO means you went out of your way to cause problems, and got temp ban multiple times until to a point it turn into permanent ban.

Your own info on what to do, i dont think its forever, i mean you need to almost knock down a server for that, or things like that, way over then just cheating or been caught with whatever that is, )( maybe ask them, other has been judge and afaik got ban remove after years of ban, only you can see own ban later not others, and that not the case with you atm.

ATM. you seem to have over 6 years, i think other have been seen get redeemed earliger, but i can be mistaken, maybe ask them when it will be over, ( all depend on the case ofc. atm i and other only have your side of it, and that dont mean a thing in this forum )

And just because i think 5 years of judgement is enough, and hope you learn your leason, still dont mean they think so or other steam user,

Do know the new judgement caught in same thing 2 time can mean double punisment, and 3 time can be forever even. or reset over 3-10 years is also been ssen on clip on driveing license
(car) there are new ways to deal with ppl that keep doing it , not sure game devs think in such terms, but worth a thougth ( kids do things, and later learn better, but now we are over in Morality & Ethics.

im not saying game devs know this , but they might want think in such terms.
this was not to make it right , but you need to ask them game devs.

ask any adult how view point can change over years, such things is relevant.

gl with it.

CSGO game bans are for blatant cheating, a second greifing offense, or account boosting. No other reasons. Also the Overwatch is done completely anonymous, the watchers do not know who they are veiwing.

you're telling me information i already know. please read what I've actually put before commenting.

Appealing is futile. Neither VAC nor Overwatch/Patrol bans can be appealed against, even if perceived unfair because the probability of them being wrong is astronomically minimal.

Look up the definition of permanent.

No, you cannot appeal a ban that old, your only recourse is to make a new account as its permanent

I've already made a recent support ticket about this, and yes i know of the other people that have had game bans removed from their accounts with less days. i digress because honestly, i know how the overwatch system works and how the trust factor works... it's... not the best.

my morals back then was being as edgy as i could (also making a keybind to change my mouse DPS speed.... //yes i know that's stupid. but hey. i was having fun at the expense of the enemy team that can't even hit a barn door// and i even said in the games i did that in "I'd be surprised if i don't get banned for this" and low and behold... turns out i was right.

the lesson I've learned is not to play csgo again like a fool :/ it's only made me more and more inclined to try and appeal it... with no success due to how the automated system works and the fact of the CSGO Team rarely review cases themselves like this... which upsets me honestly.
the fact someone can have rights removed permanently due to poor judgement troubles me.

and as far as i know they really thought i was cheating. i mean is it even possible for me to actually explain what happened?... because i literally can't forget how it happened and when.

TL;DR I've contacted steam//again/// and I'm refusing to let this go... my account has been under lock for far too long, due to a damned mistake.
Brian9824 Sep 30, 2022 @ 7:56am
Contact them as much as you want, eventually you will get a ban from support as well. Bans are automatically removed when they are a mistake, your ban from years ago will not be removed.

Your only option is to make a new account

kinda seems like a waste of my time even using this account then? if I'm required to make another... what would the point be? to only play csgo?... my problem is with the restrictions. not the ban itself. :/
