Steam deck and family sharing
Hey guys,

So I just figured out that if I have steam on pc it connect and streams with the Steam deck.
I have some shared libraries and up until then I just thought family sharing does not work in the deck but suddenly everything was there to load and play.
Now I turned of my pc and I can't see any of the shared libraries or play a game I downloaded I should purchase it.

But why though do I really need to connect to steam pc the whole time that the deck knows it is shared?!
I also enabled family sharing on the deck in the setting but nothing.
And I can't just let them log in on my Steam deck and stay logged in, not to say some live far away.

So really? Do I need to stay PC online or do I miss something?

As I said I enabled it the settings but I need to "purchase" the game and can't see any games when I'm not connected to PC steam.
And I can't ask the owner of the library either because I don't see a "borrow" button like in some yt Vids.

Any ideas

Thanks guys

The account that is being shared from must be online for the game to appear playable.

Even with Family Sharing, you cannot run multiple games from the same account at the same time. If someone is using the shared account, all of the games will be unavailable to whoever they are sharing with.

Each device must be authorized by the person who is sharing to you meaning, they must log into your Deck for you to borrow their library.

You can "stream" from your PC to your Deck to get around the device authorization because your PC was already authorized.

Thanks guys.
But can't I asked to borrow it somewhere on the deck? My friends sadly can't log in since they live to far away:/
Is there a way to authorize it from a far since I already have the share on PC
