Download Recovery failed, a way to recover .patch files?

I have recently lost my download progress. I have watched fixes and followed the steps. Although I forgot to backup the .patch files aswell and Steam is now downloading everything again.
So basically I have the game files (PayDay2) from the downloading folder. They are almost complete only the patch file is missing. So Steam doesnt know i already have most of the game files and restarted the download. The files are now getting added up to the Steam downloading apps folder. I pasted the backup back in there and the folder is now getting bigger so its not even replacing the files or checking if they already exist??

Does anybody know a fix?

The patch files have details about the download, and including details about the progress of the download - IIRC.

If you lost those, then you're probably screwed, as they were nuked somehow.

If the backup didn't work either, it's just recommended that you re-download it, and don't lose your DL progress.

Unexpected shut-downs is one of the major causes of lost DL progress.
