Disable Steam Friends notifications after the new update (04/08/2018)

Ever since Steam updated itself with this ugly ass overhault piece of crap, my notifications were reset. It went from no notifcations to seeing random people playing x game online which I had disaabled as it's beyond frustrating.

Anyway, here's how to turn off this crap again:

Sign in to Steam > Friends tab > click settings on Friends & Chat > notifications > turn em all off/on to your liking.

Oh. I was pretty confused since steam removed the "friends" thing from the settings menu or thingy.

The settings are available in the COG icon.

Not a lot of users are aware of this.
