lag when streaming

hi whenever i stream fortnite i have a bit of lag on my screen and on stream. i have a gtx 1070 and an i5 7600k and i play everything on low when i stream. please help. also i use streamlabs obs and already have my encoder to nvenc

Funny to see that Fortnite doesn't have any support to go to.
Also, streaming takes a lot of internet. Do you have WiFi or ethernet? Is it old or new cable/router? Is your internet reliable from the providers side?

i use ethernet and its new

Good and bad. (We don't know the problem yet, but it's one tick done)
Try testing to stream (Fortnite and streamlabs open) and hold Task Manager open, that should help.

thank you! i had it open the last time i streamed and fortnite took up like 60% whilst streamlabs took up the rest

You should update streamlabs and scan your computer regulary.
If streamlabs doesn't stop using 40% of your power then use GeForce Experience. Helps for me as it doesn't reduce anything.

oh right, sorry. i use windows 10

Go to Settings, then go to Security. From there you should see the scan types. Press full scan and wait. It can work on the background.

i cant find it. i only see windows security
