Reset Play Hours
I accidentally left my launcher for Elder Scrolls Online up today, but I was too busy to even play it. I came back to my computer tonight and it logged 7 hours of play, but I wasn't even in the game the entire time. xD Not that big of a deal I guess, but not really accurate either. Is there any way I can just delete that play time?

Nope. You can only hide it setting your game details to private.

No, there is no way to delete play time from a game.

i think the problem with hours played mechanic is in the fact that many devs ruin their games with updates, for example i was a huge fan of tf2 before hats update, then the game became a joke and i didn't want to feel associated with what it turned into (it was a mature game turned f2p item store for kids), then to make things worse i had like 200 hours in it and was my top game played, and many games in my library that i valued and played before steam recorded hours were rock bottom, so i started inflating hours played just because of that one game, years later my whole library is a mess of games that i never played in the top 50 games and it makes me feel like i need to fix this so that it makes sense as an actual feature, because hours played is basically just a way to say how much time the game was open (it is not real representation of in-game activity) so valve should either fix the mechanic to reflect in-game time or give us ability to reset.

There is still no way to reset play time.

If you think there should be, you need to post a suggestion in Suggestions/Ideas.

Not bump a 3 year old question in Help & Tips.

You necro a 3 year old post that was answered.

TF2 was very bland decade ago, when they added hats, items, skins, new game modes, maps, and mote it made the game more unique, and actually gave fresh new look to the game, but didn't change the core game for some parts as it's still TF2 as it is but with a lot more updates like new maps, and much more, if hate skins/customizations then you hate pretty much majority of games that has them these days that are popular.

Also it's not possible for valve/Steam to check in-game activity if you're doing something, or not such as you reading, watching video, waiting for something to finish in-game, or etc that doesn't require you to do an input as this is dependent on game Dev to handle these things, and Valve/Steam doesn't mess with anyone games but their own games.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Valve_games

So I doubt game devs want to put more times to putting bunch of activity checkers through their games.

What they could do is give you new time stamp, where have two total times, one you can reset all you want, and be front page, the other you can't because this is something that follow store policy for refunds, as can't spoof your actual time running the game, as there some people that would love to abuse to try get free game rides.

@dr. shadowds i am fine with both, i am just not seeing how it works, i am not sure it works as intended because my top game is an idle game which i played 10 percent of time and other games were just open for no reason for hours and when i look for games to play i am confused because i have a game with many hours that i am not sure i played that much etc, it doesn't help me to figure out if i actually played it or not and in-game activity check would fix that

Nope you can just hide it. There's no way you can delete it :)
