Offline play

I purchased Red Dead Redemption II on Steam and when I try to play it offline it says Verifying game ownership fail. I need to activate it and I am not sure how. I tried getting some support from Rockstar and steam and am getting no help. I can only play offline currently

Also are you able to play online?

Edit: Online is required even for story mode.

Yeah I have a Rockstar Social Club account and I can play online, but where I play most of my games I have no internet access

Found this solution on Reddit:

Start your Rockstar Game launcher disable auto login. It means you will have to add everytime your password.

Disable Cloud Saves Play Offline

After this will start always offline mode and can play the story mode.

In case it still doesn't work log in with internet until it arrives to the Menu. ALT + TAB disable your internet.

Exit the Game then with disabled internet push play again in the launcher in offline mode.

Important keep cloud saves disabled and auto login.

IT will work offline mode everytime you close or open the launcher or the pc no need to repeat everytime.

Just remember if you want to update your cloud saves with internet to enable again, after updated just disable again for offline.

ive turned on the sign in automatically option on rockstar games, so when i turn my pc on it should load offline right?
