Although Steam was about a year old when I created my account, so I suppose the initial launch supported emails initially or as an option to username and then changed to rely solely on username when creating an account.
Although it was a long time ago, and I'm sure I wouldn't remember all the details of account creation. Perhaps email was an option still, but I opted for account name. Other people were bound to opt for email.
It serves no purpose to you as a user to know the personal details of other user accounts, regardless of the age.
Unless they are interested in them, maliciously. ngl here.
Mind your own gaming business.
Other account names aren’t that business.

People get curious about all sorts of things. Weird things, obscure things. Assuming malice because it's not something that concerns you may not always be rational.
You do you. If you think it's a problem, report the post.
Although this post does nothing to phish for info. It's not a secret every Steam user has some kinda user name. And knowing some users have an email for a user name doesn't get you anything. You know the user name for pretty much every email account on your contact list... oh no!
