Call of Duty: WWII

Hello.

After buying Call of Duty: WWII, I noticed that two items appeared in my Steam library: CoD: WWII, and CoD: WWII - Multiplayer, with each item requiring more than 80 GBs.

Will I have to download both items in order to play the game in both single and multiplayer modes? Or should I download the base game (the one with bigger size) and Steam will verify that both items are downloaded?

you can combine the drive to have bigger space

They're not 80 GB each, I just checked they're just over 100GB in total, the single player game is 17GB and the multiplayer game is 87GB

in steam library for me, one is 87 gb and the other (multipayer) is 84.

I believe you bro, I'm just saying what I'm seeing in my library.

So does that mean that you downloaded both "Call of Duty: WWII" and "Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer" in order to play the game in both single and multiplayer modes? Or did you just had to download the former only and Steam verified the files for both?

Yes, you need both.

• VC 2015 Redist is 28.38 MB
  
• DirectX Jun 2010 Redist is 98.16 MB
  
• Campaign content is 16.85 GB
  
• MP content is 14.41 GB
  
• Shared content (you only install these files once) is 69.93 GB
  
• Shared language content is 3.50 GB (depending on the language) in average

You'd need 104.6 GB in total if you use the English files, note that you'd need more if you have DLCs

Yes, but multiplayer has been dead for years.

But the issue is when I try to download only singleplayer, it goes to download something amounting to 76-79 GB.

Installed by itself the single-player game will require about 91 GB of space. Conversely, if you only wanted to install the multi-player then you need 88 GB free. However, installing both will only require about 105 GB which is less than the sum of the individual games. The reason for this is that the largest part of the game is a shared base which is made up of the game engine, levels, common art, etc. This base is required for both the single and multiplayer games to run but because it is shared, it does not need to be duplicated for each game. Please be aware that in general, having less than at least twice the game's required space free can lead to problems because Steam needs scratch space to decode, decompress, and update game files.
