If you are advertising another services store page, depends on what service/site and if it is on topic.
bc i don't wanne make gaming Videos or provide a Gallery ( Slider )
no middle / Affiliate Links
just a normal image link leading to the steam store page of a game so ppL can check it out
As long as it is not related to malicious slander (which could possibly lead to troubles, no matter if it includes a link or not), Steam and the publishers of the games, you intend to link, will only be happy about it.
"well technically you can't do this and have to blabla..."
just wanted to know if this is generally a bad idea...
Imo it seems it's perfectly legal ( "okay" ) to do as long as it doesn't contain advertisement ( eco intent ) or malicious and intentionally harmful functions
Also it should have something to do with what you are writing ( posting ) about
For who may be interested: If ya using Screenshots showing violent Stuff u may need to have an extra Security Feature and or Message(s) build in with your Projects.
Im not a lawyer; Is just what i believe applies to me, my project / country where im risiding
*just wanted to add that i personally will just link to the offical publishers Game Page ( en )

Most other results seem to agree, that linking to a subdomain, as you intend, is legal under all legislations.
Might be helpful to add a disclaimer, that there is no connection between you and the recommended games.
It's only when you're trying to do uncalled for advertise like self promote, or promoting on behalf of someone on the main steam discussion forums that not related to the topic, or sub forum.
