Bethesda / Steam merger nightmare

I really would like some help here. During the Bethesda / Steam migration I finally was able to merge the accounts. However the account that was linked to my Bethesda Account. That's fine, but I mostly play under my Steam account name. That name is still taken by my old account and I can't change the name on the Bethesda account. Is there any way to recover or change my name in this new system to my Steam account name? That's mostly important. Can I merge Platinum, shards and other earnings / purchases from Steam to the Bethesda account that was linked? Did I get screwed and now I lost everything?

you need to contact bethesda support about this, its their game, their merger, their nightmare.

The merge is only to transfer games, DLC, and virtual wallets, such as atoms, shards, and etc, there is no name merge, or name change that done via the merge.

You can change your Display name on your Bethesda account, can only do this every 3 months. But there is a limit as can only change it to name that not taken.

You can change your Steam Dsiplay name anytime you want, as much as you want, to whatever as long it not offensive such as swear words, and so on which is a given.

The merger is for those who bought games on Bethesda's launcher to bring them to Steam.

The merger is not for existing Bethesda games purchased on Steam.

Dr Shadowlands -> Unfortunately, whenI performed the merge, when I launch the game through Steam, I have the Bethesda username. How can I login to the game using my Steam name? I tried entering the Steam Username and password when starting the game and I received an error that the username or password is incorrect.

Again you'd have to talk to Bethesda. It has absolutely nothing to do with Steam and no random user here can tell you.

There no name transfer what was unclear?

Also you do not use Steam for login of bethesda account, you still use the bethesda account login for your bethesda account hence the name change I pointed out to do so via bethesda site.

ONLY THE LAUNCHER IS GETTING REMOVED, not the bethesda service, your account is not getting removed, nor is it being deactivated, that was not what this transfer is about, they're only dropping their launcher means can no longer download game via their service, hence the transfer of games to Steam.

Let make this clear.

1. The transfer is to bring games/dlc/wallet items you own via Bethesda launcher to your Steam library, that is it.

2. You login to Steam client, to download your games, that is it.

3. If playing Fallout 4, Skyrim special edition, or Fallout 76, and try to login via in-game creation club, it's ASKS for your Bethesda account, NOT your Steam account.



If you want to change your name on your Bethesda account, you make that change on your Bethesda account, not by Steam as they have nothing to do with each other in this matter. The link is above in my first post, click it and you realize exactly what I'm talking about.

Why do OP not read how and what to do in the Bethesda Client, its all there.
even transfer content to to other steam account.

I did not have a issue with migration so i cant help you if you have other issue, ask Bethesda Support then.
