You explicitely agreed, that "This is a gift and you do not expect anything in return", when you created the trade.
The way this went, you won't even have a base for an account report, because you were foolish enough to do the talking on an external platform. All that Valve knows is, that you sent items to a friend of yours.

The scam is probably the most obvious ones in existence and there's far more complex ones with dire consequences so take this as a lesson learned.
The only people that can be trusted are those that use the trading windows appropriately and make fair offers that you'd deem acceptable.
