Steam is running slow
I have been having this issue where steam will run very slowly on my pc. Note it’s not the games, it’s only the steam application. What do I do??

Try switching to a new theme(steam skin). Back when mine was running a bit slow thats what I did and mine ran perfectly with a different theme.

Most of the time its clear webcache and cookie if first option s not enough.

But i can also say steam flush cmd can help reset steam to default. ( google it )

and then there is option like reduce steam settings as much as possible.

no to Gpu accelration and bandwide usage, and there is alot of other things to have client use lesser resources, so things run faster, but i can also say have a old pc with all the new things kept adding in the last 4 years dont make client faster then things run smoother and better in new graphics that has a cost depend on user own hardware. ( you might not want to add such to own client )

Make sure to open task manager to see what programs are taking up most of your PC's resources. If you are running multiple different programs that are CPU/GPU heavy, that might impact performance on Steam as well.
