Steam Support --> A Purchase --> Select Purchase --> I have a question
But don't expect a different outcome when you are no longer eligible for a refund.
The issue is i am eligible for a refund, but it requires the agent spend more than 5 seconds looking at the support ticket, which is the reason i need to actually get in touch with someone to explain the issue properly, they are denying it based on playtime but seem to be unable to understand that all that playtime was prior to the purchase because the multiplayer portion of the game was always free to play, its the single player side of the game which needs to be refunded and that has under 2 hours playtime on it
Which game are you talking about?
All playtime counts.
As told to a manual ticket, the automated ticket will get closed automatically
See this is why it needs an actual discussion with a support agent
The playtime is not accurate because the game has FREE TO PLAY multiplayer
The game in question is halo infinite, the multiplayer side is entirely free, you have to pay to unlock the single player campaign, i have under 2 hours playtime of the actual campaign, it would be literally impossible to have racked up 29 hours of playtime between the time of purchase and the refund request
So yeah this is why it needs an actual discussion with a member of the support team to explain the actual issue
Do not expect a different response through your manual ticket.
Again there is none, as told make a manual ticket, you can't use the automated refund in cases like this.
Ehh if he does a manual ticket and in that scenario he has a decent shot of a refund, but yeah not guaranteed
Yeah i've already done it but i was hoping there was a far more efficient way, because its still likely to result in weeks worth of back and forth waiting for the agent to respond to the ticket with a copy and paste answer then getting them to read it properly then explaining it all to them, all the while i can't touch the free multiplayer anymore because they will try to hold that against me
Issue is it shouldn't BE a grey area to begin with, its extremely easy to spot because steam knows when i first installed a game and when i purchased content, even a basic PHP script can handle something that simple
All playtime counts, even playtime from before you buy it if it had free weekends for instance. So it's on purpose. Now it's just a bit more grey because the MP and SP are same exe, but different.
Right but the point is that playtime shouldn't count for anything, you didn't own the product in question, hence why i said it shouldn't be a grey area its very straight forward and black and white in this case, steam just makes it grey when they shouldn't have to
Eh but it does, its part of their clearly defined rules, so again if they say no in the manual ticket thats it.
