After many years of zero issues with Steam, today I found myself trying to find support. What I found was very unexpected. No phone calls, email bounces back 'no longer monitored' with a misspelling and a reference to open a ticket. When I go to http://help.steampowered.com there is no way to open a ticket.

My frustration would not be with the lack of contact, **IF** I was given good information on system status that prevented me from wasting hours of my own time pointlessly troubleshooting when, in fact, there was / is a problem with steam.

Error messages like "The ... password you entered is incorrect" and "An error occurred while searching for an associated account" are terrifying without any addition information.

If Steam wants to provide lean, or no Customer Service, that's fine, but you need to be on top of communicating issues. All I can find is:

None of the links above give any indication of a problem. Yet many of use are having issues. I really hope someone can provide a link that I've overlooked where Steam (the company) is providing information on this issue.

1. when you click the "support" menu, you have to keep skipping to the bottom of the pages of the support wizard to actually start creating a ticket.
2. most issues are resolved by actually doing what the FAQ says, clear cache, and change your downloads region, it not only fixes download, but may also fix other issues related to pages loading etc.
