Why can't I remove "Gothic - Playable Teaser" from my account?
I can go through my library and remove games I've paid for from my account.

But I can't remove demos such as "Gothic - Playable Teaser". I don't even know how the hell it got in my library in the first place.

Is it even possible to remove? I've already hidden it, but I don't want it in my library at all.

Today, a free playable prototype (Gothic Playable Teaser) of what a new Gothic could look and feel like will appear in the Steam Library of everyone who owns a game from Piranha Bytes, be it Gothic 1-3, Risen 1-3, or ELEX.

Ah thanks that explains it.

It might actually be worth checking out, I was just annoyed that a) I didn't know where it come from and b) couldn't get rid of it. Kind of like that Bono iTunes thing.

You could hide it so you don't want to see it, or ask Steam support to remove it. Although technically they don't truly remove games just hide them extra well, in case you want to restore them at a later date.

Thanks. Yeah I've already hidden it, I remember this happening with some other game which is no longer in my library so it might go away on its own. Good to know, if I accumulate too many of these un-solicited demos I'll contact Steam support but I'll leave it be for now.
