My friend bought me a game and i can't find it

My friend bought me a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 and i can't find it anywhere. Am I doing something wrong?

If you walk over to the steam store page for it you'll see either the "Add to Card" button or it will say "Launch game" instead.
On your library list it might be there but under GAMES as its uncategorized by you yet.
You might also want to temporarily toggle the "Only show installed games" setting.

I see launch game but it never downloaded, and it isn't in my library

This is gonna sound dumb but make sure you don't have the filter for currently installed games enabled.

I always have that on because scrolling through anything above 200 games can already get annoying, maybe double check if it's not on?

Although i do think it should pop up regardless if you use the search bar at the top of the library.

Do try restarting steam if you haven't yet as well, make sure to check your task manager and check if all steam processes completely shut off before starting it back up.

did you check your "gift history" or "trade history" OP?????

did your friend check their "gift history" and "trade history" too.

what if your "friend" got scammed and he never notices it.
